“Peter Lawwell will be doing cartwheels along London Road” – Hugh Keevins says transfer to be ‘set in motion’

The World Cup has offered the Celtic fans the opportunity to watch their players in the biggest tournament in football whilst the domestic game is closed and I think it is fair to say that out of all Celtic’s representatives, Josip Juranovic has absolutely stolen the show.

The Croatian has been in top form for his country and if reports are to be believed and Juranovic is looking to move on, Celtic do stand to make a healthy profit on him after investing just £2.5m on him last season.

But what we don’t know is this. Will he leave in January or the summer?

It does seems the sale will be initiated sooner than we think. That’s according to Hugh Keevins.

Speaking Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “Peter Lawwell will be doing cartwheels along London Road on the first of January all the way into Celtic Park to begin as Chairman, and set in motion the sale of Josip Juranovic.

“The World Cup is a showcase. That’s what clubs hope will happen.

“You hope that your player has a terrific tournament as Juranovich has done.

“When Alan Shearer, on television, opened his mouth to say, “I wouldn’t fancy playing against Maeda“, I thought ‘Oh, his values just gone up‘.

“So it’s a showcase.

And Ange Postecoglou does his work, gets in Alistair Johnson, I presume, on the basis that he knows Juranovic is going.”

Juranovic is the most talked about player on Twitter. He has been trending on the social media platform for the last 24 hours now as his performance against Brazil sets tongues wagging.

All the signs point to him leaving, it seems to be just a question of when and not if.
