Celtic have moved six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a comfortable 2-0 win over St Johnstone at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
A re-scheduled match from earlier in the season, it was imperative that Brendan Rodgers’ side won the game in hand over Kilmarnock and Rangers.
It was a professional performance throughout with the Hoops kicking up the intensity after a fairly frustrating first half an hour.
Stunning goals from Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie in the second half sealed the three points, with the duo again proving they are the two most reliable stars in Rodgers’ starting eleven.
Christie in particular won plaudits from supporters for his exceptional finish, taking the ball past a defender into the box before shifting his feet and curling the ball into the far corner.
The former Inverness man is doing everything right just now and long may it continue.
