With Celtic’s rebuild going great guns at a rate of knots, the team are sitting pretty at the top of the league with a three point advantage and a cup already in the bag, Ange Postecoglou has worked miracles with the squad that was left to him late in the summer.

Admittedly, he has added many new faces but these did end up being like for like replacements for the raft of first team players that left.

Edouard, Christie, Ajer and Scott Brown to name but four of the players Ange was tasked with replacing as well as trying to mount some form of challenge at the top of the league seemed like a job too far considering the state of the squad.

But he has done it. And more.

European group stage football was achieved as was picking up the first piece of silverware this season in the league cup. And all with a mixture of players he inherited prior to the January window closing and with a few of his own additions.

But one of the inherited players has been told he no longer has a future at the club according to a report in Football Insider.

Albian Ajeti was signed in Neil Lennon’s ill fated final season as the former Celtic boss looked to boost his team for the ten in a row assault.

The Swiss striker was signed for £5m and in two seasons has notched nine goals in forty eight appearances.

A far cry from the form that tempted West Ham United to spend over £10m to take him from FC Basel back in 2019.

It seems now that Ange has called time on the striker and he is now free to find himself a new club at the end of the season with Celtic, no doubt, needing to take a massive loss on the £5m they shelled out for him.

We might not even get a penny for Adjeti, but at least we can get him off the wage bill, along with butter fingers barkas.
