Celtic’s transfer dealings are really on the go this week.

With the title almost wrapped up, Ange Postecoglou’s scouting team will be looking to strengthen the team for next seasons defence of the league and challenges of Europe.

Reports that the club are looking to strengthen three key areas alongside players being named as of potential interest to the club, this is the first report that we have seen of a concrete offer being placed by the club on a player.

L’Equipe have claimed that the Hoops have made a €3m offer for Caen striker Alexandre Mendy.

The 28 year old Guinea-Bissau international has netted 16 times in 30 appearances for the second tier French side and the media outlet claims that the forward is of ‘great interest’ to the champions elect.

The report says, “The Caen striker, 8th in Ligue 2, is of great interest to the Scottish club. The latter has already made a proposal of 3 million euros in order to attract him.”

With no official word from the club, we will wait till we hear from Ange Postecoglou at his next press conference to see if there is any truth to this story.

But knowing the Celtic gaffer, he is more likely to keep his cards close to his chest rather than show his had at this early stage of transfer dealings.
