Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes Kieran Tierney will be fit and ready for the visit of RB Salzburg in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
Revealing that the 21-year-old had a groin problem that ruled him out of the thumping 5-1 win over Kilmarnock at Celtic Park yesterday, Rodgers is nonetheless confident we’ll see Tierney back in action soon.
🗣️ BR: "@kierantierney1 should be fine and ready for Thursday. He had a slight issue around his groin area and we didn't want to risk it. He wants to play every second of every game but you need to be sensible about it." #CELKIL

Emilio Izaguirre came into the side for the Scotland international yesterday and performed admirably, but there would certainly be question marks about his ability to reach the intensity levels required to see off the threat of the Austrians this week.
Tierney’s return is very welcome and he is often one of our best performers in European competition.
The Hoops need a draw to progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League, with Salzburg already having guaranteed their route to the last 32 as group winners.
Paradise is sure to be bouncing and we are already counting down the hours to kick-off.
