Yesterday’s Celtic game at home to Kilmarnock was a real celebration of where Brendan Rodgers’ side are right now.
After faltering mid-week against Motherwell, fans were a little worried that the challenge of Steve Clarke’s Killie could lead to another disappointing result and more dropped points.
The Hoops though were clearly intent on making a statement to the rest of Scottish football that we will not be displaced at the top of the table easily, destroying the Ayrshire outfit 5-1.
Many of the team’s most consistent performers over the last two months won plaudits, but many fans were also quick to point to the contribution of left-back Emilio Izaguirre, who came into the side for the injured Kieran Tierney.
The Honduran veteran was in excellent form on the left hand side and looked to be more than capable back-up for the Scotland international.
Rolling back the years, he delighted plenty of supporters with his performance, with this lot taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Can’t be the only one who’s thinking we playing better with izaguirre. KTs crossing has been pish for ages.

Forrest for that first goal alone but Christie was fantastic as was McGregor. Special mention must also go to Izaguirre who had a fantastic game considering he hadn't played in a long time.
