Plenty of Celtic fans are willing to remain patient with defender Jack Hendry despite criticism of the player’s performances increasing in volume recently.
Hendry’s loss of possession led to Rosenborg’s opening goal last night, a mistake that has added fuel to the fire of debate surrounding the player’s future in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven.
However, the 23-year-old rebounded well against the Norwegians to produce a solid defensive performance, especially in a second half that was arguably his best 45 minutes in a Hoops shirt.
Signing from Dundee in January, life at Celtic Park has been a steep learning curve for the Scotland international, who has never played regular football under the pressure that week-to-week action for Celtic brings.
Still, he definitely has the support of many, with fans taking to Twitter over the last 24 hours to share positive thoughts about the player’s performance against Rosenborg and his prospects of ‘making it’ at Celtic.
Is that jack hendry not won a game for Celtic patter died down now. Thank fuck. Can’t remember a young player given less of a chance in a Celtic jersey. Forrest used to be that guy. Anyhow he’s learning and will get there.

Watched last night's game again
Apart from the obvious mistake
A thought jack hendry played well
Seen people saying he's not good enough Because of a misplaced pass

3 guys in an untried back 4 were 22years old or younger. Excellent work by all 4. There’s only 1 way the boy will learn

Big jack done well last night, I don't get why people are on his back. We had three young lads in defence, and they were excellent 👊

How can the Rosenborg goal be solely Jack Hendry's fault? He gave it away 70 yds from goal! We had opportunities to commit a cynical foul, Broony slipped at a crucial moment & Gamboa allowed the goalscorer to run off him. Some Celtic fans always want a boo boy. Fannies these folk
