“So that’s an insulting remark to make” – Hugh Keevins lambasts bizarre Celtic fan criticism

This, for me, is a tired old argument.

And for it to be brought up at a time when the team are flying and going well on all fronts just smacks of bad form from this Celtic fan.

The John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan debate should not be a debate as far as this season goes.

They were roundly criticised by the Celtic fans, and rightly so, for their part in the shambolic season of the pursuit of ten in a row. Where the line should be drawn is that some of the criticism was vicious. And fierce.

So it stands to reason that if they were criticised for their part in last seasons disaster, they should be praised for their part in this seasons successes right?

Wrong.

This Celtic fan called Clyde 1 Superscoreboard and aimed a shot at them both and was not willing to give them any credit at all for this seasons improvements, “Regarding the backroom staff  mainly John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan.

“For me I don’t think they honestly serve a purpose.

“Now Ange hasn’t brought any backroom staff with him and I would like to see Ange bring his own guys.

“For me, I’ve been a big critic of Kennedy and Strachan for a while, for me, I don’t see the purpose of them being there.”

Extremely harsh and Hugh Keevins was quick to put him straight, “They’re easy targets.  How does anyone know what they do? If they were doing absolutely nothing Ange Postecoglou would have made arrangements by now.

“But Celtic are top of the league and they have won the first cup of the season and are still in the Europa Conference League.

“So that’s an insulting remark to make to people who are helping Ange Postecoglou gather these achievements.”

Utterly bizarre criticism at a time when the club can genuinely challenge for yet another treble.

The narrative surrounding the two of them is not needed at this time and, personally, I am sick of it.

Do you really think if Strachan and Kennedy were contributing nothing to the cause after what we saw from Ange over the weekend that they would still be there?

Exactly.

Why you have to bring your own guys with you that’s what’s ruined this country jobs for the boys is not very good for building trust by sacking people that the people of the club know well and won’t cause to much of a upheaval can’t see why people are so intent for people to sacked should we be like gov get family members in to keep everything in house that not and should not be allowed qualified people sacked for a non qualified person in not the way

Well done angi to say these people deserve a chance give them a chance to see if I’m comfortable with them I might even get help into scottish football tell about every team angi is doing what most people should I think he loves the challenge of starting a now group and when and if he thinks the time comes a change might be needed and what a chance for Kennedy Strachan and the other coaches to learn from a great coach I think angi will be with celtic as long as Celtic_fc_1888 board and supporters want him

Whilst Kennedy and Strachan are part of the current success, it’s hard to forget they were also prominent in recent seasons when the coaching failed to provide any kind of solid defence. Even now ,I am holding my breath at free kicks and corners as ,with better players we are still vulnerable. See versus Aberdeen. Time may tell but I’m still to be convinced we are solid enough against better teams.

Some people are never happy..Does this ejit think for one minute that Ange would put up with Kennedy & Strachan if they weren’t up for the fight..They’d be down London Rd on there arse in no time..🍀
