Speaking on his talkSPORT radio show, Jim White has revealed that Omar Elabdellaoui remains on the agenda for Celtic this month.
The defender is a youngish right-back and would be an ideal replacement for Mikael Lustig who has shown signs of ageing in recent months.
The Swedish full-back has been a great servant for us over the years but he does need a replacement sorted sooner rather than later.
Elabdellaoui appears to be the one we’re looking at, then, and White had this to say earlier today on his show:
“Celtic are set for a recruitment meeting today with two possible signings on the agenda,
“The meeting is to decide who is or isn’t coming to the club.
An interesting bit of insight from White, then, who, despite what you may think of his rather loud nature, does seem to have plenty of contacts in the game when it comes to transfers.
Certainly, we do need a new right-sided full-back to come in sooner rather than later whilst I would also like to see us target a centre-half this month as well.
