Stop looking for Brown replacement. He’s already here

|

Stories circulating that Celtic are looking at a replacement for Scott Brown in the summer transfer window have been doing the rounds over the last few days. Brown has had limited appearances this season as Celtic boss, Neil Lennon, looks to be blooding through new talent at the club.

Ben Pearson is the latest player to be linked to the Hoops but in my opinion, the scouts should be doing more homework in solving the defensive issues at the club.  The Scott Brown answer is already here and if they can’t see that serious questions need to be asked at what is going on behind the scenes.

Young Ismaila Soro is the man to replace Brown. Hands down.  Granted the young Ivorian has just broken into the first team squad but he has taken to Brown’s role like a duck to water and he has been very impressive when called upon.  Dynamic, full or running and not afraid of the tackle, Soro looks like he could command Celtic’s midfield for years to come.

We have still to see if Soro has the same qualities that make’s the Celtic Captain the player other fans love to hate. Brown has a “bite” that just seems to either wind opposition players up or make them fear him, but as far as footballing ability goes, early indications are that Soro can easily fit into Browns role and be a star for the team in years to come.

Save the scouting time. Save the amount it would take in wages to bring an unknown into the squad. Save the time it would take for Pearson to adapt to Scottish football and invest it in a talent we already have at the club.
