I should stop reading about that radio station. The only time they mention Scottish football is to have a derisory dig to fill 10 minutes of air space. The UK’s biggest sports radio station, Talksport, does nothing but talk down our game and it is now tedious and to be honest, it’s embarrassing.
Usually it’s Adrian Durham that wields the axe, in particular with Celtic, but this time it was the turn of Jason Cundy, a well known Rangers sympathiser (not supporter) and Celtic critic. I was going to use hater but thought better of it, and he took aim at the Hoops giants.
Cundy is well known for his anti Celtic rants (I refuse to link to them, just google it) and this time he took to the air waves to show us what everyone in Scotland already knows about the over rated English Premier League, they value money over medals, “I think the sort of club he (Howe) needs is a club like Palace. They’re the perfect example. For him personally, yes I think it’s a better job. Celtic, you know, it’s a great stepping stone.

“But where do you go from Celtic? Name the managers from Celtic and have gone on to a big club. Brendan has gone to Leicester and done a fabulous job there, but where do they go after that?
“Crystal Palace is a nice project I think. It’s one of those jobs which I feel has a lot of potential. Let’s say he got Palace in sixth, I think that’s a bigger achievement than winning the title with Celtic.”
For many clubs in England, finishing in the top 4 is more valuable to them than trophies and in many ways, you can’t blame them. The overpriced and over inflated wages they pay players mean that money is more vital to their existence than having a trophy sitting in their cabinet.
It’s time Talksport changed the record and Scottish football fans turned off from their anti Scottish football agenda. There is no need for it. They already believe their league is the best in the world. The constant derision they show our game will drive more listeners north of the border away.
