I hate it when people say “You don’t speak for the Celtic support” to bloggers (I never get that said to me cause I’m just not that good!) or to the fan media outlets when all they are doing is reporting the goings on at the club.

Mostly, when bloggers/fan media speak it’s from a personal opinion perspective and if you asked each and every one of them, they will also claim they do not speak on behalf of the fans.

But on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Hugh Keevins made a claim that made it sound as though he was speaking for the fans when discussing Celtic right back Anthony Ralston.

Ralston, under Postecoglou, has been in sensational form so far this season. Yes, he does have his limitations but, my word, the guy is giving his all for the jersey.

Hugh was having a ‘Ralston appreciation’ moment when he said, “I commend Anthony Ralston for a show of moral courage. The Celtic supporters don’t want him there.

“It’s the fault of Celtic that he started there. It’s the fault of dodgy recruitment, that they haven’t addressed the fullback position or the central defensive position as well.

“However, I commend him for two goals in two league games. A show of moral courage, but Celtic also need cover up front because it’s more than likely that Edouard will be gone before the end of the window.

“Furuhashi has made a sensational start. Abada has made a terrific start as well, but still more signings required.”

The Celtic supporters don’t want him there? That is quite the claim. The Celtic supporters want strengthening in that position. That is a far cry from wanting the guy hunted from Celtic Park.

Yes, the fans can demand more and say he doesn’t deserve to be in the team because he hadn’t deserved to. Five years under four different managers tells you that. He didn’t deserve his place.

Until now.

Players can thrive under different managers. Remember Bobby Petta under Martin O’Neill? Ralston has shown that he does deserve his place for now. But he needs competition and THAT is what the Celtic want.

But suggest he is not wanted at Parkhead is just plain wrong.
