Celtic prospect Jack Aitchison was in fine form this weekend, scoring two goals for the Scotland U19s side in a victory over San Marino.

The win means Scotland are top of their European Championship qualifying group and with Aitchison in such excellent scoring form, you wouldn’t count them out of progressing.

The 18-year-old has scored an impressive 10 goals 12 appearances for the U19s side over the last year, netting against teams like the Netherlands, Poland and Norway.

His first-team opportunities at Celtic have been limited since his stunning debut at the end of the Ronny Deila era, but he continues to demonstrate his talent and potential.

He moved to Dumbarton on loan in the summer transfer window but cut short his stay at the Scottish League One strugglers just a few weeks into the new season.

He is on Brendan Rodgers’ radar, with the manager opting to use him from the bench in two matches last season against Hearts and Partick Thistle.

Can he be the third striking option behind Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths, now that Moussa Dembele has left the club? Or will the manager move for a forward in the January transfer window?
