After Celtic had progressed through to the group stages of the Europa League, you would think that there would be joy in the air from the Scottish media.

European football up until Christmas fills their column inches and gives them plenty to talk about on their phone ins.

You would think that, but then you would be mistaken. Scotland’s own prophet of doom, Hugh Keevins, was giving his analysis of the game last night and took a stinging swipe at one of Celtic’s players.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins told of his reservations about Hoops keeper Joe Hart and said he has another big test coming this Sunday at Ibrox, “The jury is out on Hart.

“If you’re with Barkas, Bain and Hazard then yes he is an upgrade.

“But that mistake (against Alkmaar) was unbelievable.

“To stand there and wait for the ball to come to him when he should have been out like a shot and clearing all in front of him.

“Sunday at Ibrox will be major for Joe Hart because the atmosphere will be incredibly hostile. With no Celtic supporters at all at the ground.

“So he needs a big day at Ibrox on Sunday.”

I’m struggling to see where this “test” has come from. Hart was an established England international that has played in World Cups, Euro’s and won the Premier League with Manchester City.

There is NO test here for Hart. This is simply media mischief making at best.

You would think Keevins would learn after the Australian media absolutely savaged him for his comments on Ange Postecoglou. But alas not
