Only three days or so left of the transfer window and already Celtic are making serious moves to help strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s side.

With Europa League football guaranteed and a long season ahead, many Celtic supporters are expecting the board to spend, and spend big, to help give Ange the best possible chance to not only compete, but to progress.

One man that agrees with that sentiment and thinks it will happen before is Mark Guidi. Speaking on Go Radio, Guidi says he is confident big moves are afoot and that the board must show proper backing to the manager, “Yeah I mean I think it’ll be interesting to see how both squads finish up on Tuesday night.

“But there will be movement. Absolutely will be big moves.

“Put it this way, there’s got to be particularly at Celtic.

“I’ve mentioned many times, in terms of the net spend in this calendar year. They have a surplus of millions.

“They’ve now just banked themselves into Europe. The manager’s got to be backed. He’s missing at least three quality players in different positions.

“If they don’t back the manager now, it’s a poor call from the Celtic hierarchy. They’ve got to back the manager and bring in the players that he wants.

“They’ve got a real chance  now, Celtic, they shouldn’t blow it.

“They should learn their lessons from last season.”

And there lies the truth in the matter and one that I think will happen. The board will back Ange if they have an ounce of sense.

Look at what he has achieved already in such a short space of time. Imagine what he can do with a full season under his belt and proper backing from a willing board.
