The Scottish media rewrote last night’s Celtic result and still got it wrong

I love it when the media in Scotland make a pigs ear of their job.

I am no journalist (clearly) but what I do know, and have known for years, is never show your hand too early when it comes to breaking a story.

Basic fact checking MUST always be adhered to and always wait for the end result. Always.

Because you never know when a story may come back and bite you on the backside.

And that is exactly what happened last night to tow major news outlets last night.

Choking to get their ‘exclusives’ out before anyone else. The Scottish Daily Mail and the BBC both ran early with their stories of Celtic drawing at Dingwall before Anthony Ralston’s header hit the back of the Ross County net.

The Daily Mail were first off the mark. A full SEVEN minutes before the game had actually finished.

And then the BBC was next.

Both quick off the mark to get their negative Celtic story out first.  Both left embarrassed in equal measures as the Hoops stole their victory at the death.

The best bit?

The BBC fixed their report. So did The Scottish Daily Mail. Well, almost.

I’ll let you see if you can spot the obvious mistake.
