I think it’s fair to see that, as a fanbase, we are more than prepared for some players to leave in this transfer window.

With Scott Robertson confirmed this morning as a candidate tipped to leave the club, the next logical player in the queue would be Josip Juranovic.

But with no real concrete bids and just speculation in the media, is the popular right back definitely leaving the club in January?

Frank McAvennie thinks so.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said, “Anywhere he goes he will be a first-team player, he is that good.

“There is obviously something in the wind because they have just bought Johnston. He got caught a few times for Canada but that is to be expected.

“When you play for Canada you are under the cosh all the time, he will not be at Celtic. So he will have time to become a good player.

“I think Juranovic can defend a bit better than him. As a defender Juranovic is the best.“

Now I know I have ridiculed Macca on this blog on many occasions in the past but to be fair to me, a lot of his ramblings deserved it.

On this occasion though, he is bang on the money.

You don’t spend the kind of money we did on Alistair Johnston to play second fiddle to a player who has just refused a new contract.

It will be a straight-out fight between Ralston and Johnston for the right back position with Juranovic moving onto pastures new in January.

Who am I? How good is your Celtic player knowledge?
