“There was a loan approach” – £5m rated former Celt’s incredible revelation as he releases a come and get me plea

|

After last nights transfer excitement the rumour mill just keeps running.

And this morning we have, not a rumour, but a solid story of a player that is desperate to pull on the green and white hoops. Again.

Former Celtic stalwart, Victor Wanyama, has told of his love affair with Celtic.

Speaking to Football Scotland, the Kenyan international was very passionate about his time at the club and incredibly revealed that he didn’t want to leave the club in the first place.

But more telling is Wanyama’s determination to return to Paradise is an interview that will not go down well with his current club, CF Montreal’s manager, Wilfred Nancy.

Wanyama revealed, “I had a contract at Tottenham and they were very difficult to let me go, the demands were very hard.

“Celtic was a club that I would love to play for again and again. It’s more than a club. I enjoyed my time there.

“I honestly want to come back and give it a last go because I love the club, the people there, the fans, just everything there was great.

“They give the players everything to go on the pitch and perform. Everything was just on top.

“There was a loan approach but I don’t know what happened. I didn’t follow it up that much.”

At just 31 years old, could Wanyama return to Paradise and make any impact on Ange Postecoglou’s side?

Wanyama was at the height of his powers when he helped Celtic defeat Barcelona back in 2012 when he scored to put the Hoops 1-0 at Celtic Park.

Celtic went onto win that match 2-1 and he was subsequently sold the following summer to Southampton for £12m.
