“I don’t doubt Maeda is in the works” – Brilliant transfer update from trusted Japan based journalist

|

Last night Vital Celtic reported on a Japanese based twitter account claiming that Reo Hatate was set for a move to Paradise.

It was a rumour picked up by the Scottish media after Vital Celtic was one of the first to break it.

The rumour, unfortunately, seems to be a baseless one as trusted journalist, Dan Orlowitz, cast serious doubts on the credibility of the source.

Orlowitz tweeted last night, “The random bloke in question is, 90% of the time, just tweeting random mundane tidbits that have already been reported by more legitimate outlets. The other 10% of the time he’s making sh*t up.

“Treat him as a legitimate rumor source at your peril.”

Dan also went on to qualify his statement, UK media will chase anything from a mile away if they get a whiff of it.

“Japanese media won’t write a rumor until someone in the club leaks that it’s a done deal.

“Remember, none of the Japanese media had Soccer ballSoccer balls to Ange about the Celtic rumors.

“It had to be us foreign writers.”

Whilst it seems like the Hatate rumour seems unlikely, Dan did give us a brilliant hint about the Daizen Maeda to Celtic link and this undoubtedly excite the Hoops fans, “This account in particular is looking for interactions.

“As I’ve said before I don’t doubt Maeda is in the works, but UK media are going to have the inside track on this – not Japanese media who are generally the last to know, or at least the last to write about it.”

So it does seem as though all is not lost yet on the Maeda front.
