There is scaremongering and there is just plain not reading the room.
As Celtic are set to face Hibs in the Premier Sports Cup Final in less than two hours time, former Hoops striker Kenny Miller, had a bizarre rant on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
Miller claims that if Celtic fail to win the cup, the manager will come under intense scrutiny from the fans, “I think it is massive. I’ll be honest. I don’t care what games are coming up.
“And you know this is not just about Kyogo. it’s not about Kyogo, taking a chance on him or not.
“It’s a cup final.
“Celtic need to win trophies. So when you come to a cup final, you must want it.
“If you lose it, for me, there will be such an autopsy.
“Why? And who’s been picked and who wasn’t available and was the performance good enough.
“Are the players up for it?
“Are they capable of getting over the line?
“This is a cup final. Celtic must win, despite who plays.”
Miller is so wide off the mark here.
The autopsy certainly won’t come from the fans the way he suggests.
With Celtic’s mounting injury crisis, the manager has the full backing of the support and so far, he has hardly put a foot wrong.
If Celtic do lose today, yes it will be disappointing but the majority of the scrutiny that Kenny seems to think will happen will not come from the fans, it will be the media and pundits on shows like the one he sits on.
Celtic fans are not daft. They didn’t expect to have the chance of silverware so soon into Postecoglou’s reign.
If we win it. Brilliant.
If not, I am willing to bet the fans will take a leaf out of Ange’s book and move onto the next game.
Kenny is talking through a hole in his a-r-e.
There will be no autopsy. We will move on.
However, we aim to win it – despite any effort by the referee today to prevent us winning it.

The fans we have are so fickle! They have zero patience and even less at failure.
They want to crucify anyone who fails even once. Even a tiny failure!
Would the fans have forgiven a defeat today?

Let’s not forget, Miller gave 100%+ for us. but he still wore our hoops professionally.
