As Vital Celtic reported this morning, trusted journalist Alan Nixon gave an update on reported Celtic target Callum Styles.
The Barnsley midfielder has been the subject of some interest from Celtic according to Nixon, and as he suggested this morning, after being quizzed by fan media site Born Celtic, Nixon confirmed that the Hoops are “watching closely”.

And shortly after, he was asked if the 21 year old could fit into Ange Postecoglou’s style, Nixon was very much of the opinion that he could.

The young Englishman certainly seems like an ideal feet for the Hoops and although Nixon urged caution on his defensive capabilities, the Celtic fans can trust that Ange will be able to work on that and help the youngster adapt his game as he has done with Anthony Ralston.
Ange certainly seems to have his ear close to the ground for the approaching window and with the expected incomings of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi from the J League, the reinforcements for the title run in seem to be coming thick and fast.
Hopefully, after the winter break, we will start to see the return of our long and short term injuries which would stand the team in good stead, along with the extra additions to bring the title back home.
