These comments show bitter Killie man clearly couldn’t handle Celtic success yesterday

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke has hit out at Celtic and the club’s supporters for celebrating wildly after yesterday’s brilliant 1-0 win at Rugby Park, as reported by The Daily Record.

Scott Brown’s winner at the death sparked scenes of jubilation in the away ends, with fans pouring onto the pitch to congratulate the captain and revel in a hugely important league victory.

The Hoops have now moved eight points clear of our closest Scottish Premiership challengers, with many supporters now feeling we are on the very of an eighth league title in a row.

Clarke though wasn’t happy with the manner of celebrations, telling The Daily Record:

I think you are always concerned when fans come on the pitch like that. The celebrations were probably a little bit over the top, it is a big compliment to Kilmarnock, that Celtic come here and celebrate a victory like that.

So we will take it as a backhanded compliment.

The fact he is ‘concerned’ is surely a bit strong. No-one on the pitch celebrating had intent to cause harm and clearly the bruising nature of a last-minute defeat is colouring Clarke’s opinion here.

Yesterday’s win was a landmark one in Celtic’s quest for a league title and we are perfectly entitled to celebrate like that, even if Brown did receive a second yellow card.

It may hurt some to see Celtic success, but I for one won’t be taking it for granted anytime soon.
