“They got complacent, they got arrogant” – Hugh Keevins over the top Celtic verdict

I’ve read a lot about people’s opinions on why Celtic lost the match against St Mirren on Sunday.

I left my reasons here.

Others thought too many changes to the team. Others reckoned the players that came in are not good enough to start.

But the criticism levied by Hugh Keevins on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard is probably the most harsh and over the top out there.

Keevins said, “I left the studio at six o’clock last Saturday evening, with Rangers fans talking about drivel and dug meat and Celtic looking forward to playing against St Mirren in Paisley.

“And for me, they got complacent, they got arrogant and they thought they could put out any old team and win the match.

“And the performance was lamentable and all credit to St Mirren.

“When I was asked to pick my team of the weekend by Radio Clyde to go online, I had half a dozen submitted players, including the entire back four and that has caused a stooshie on Twitter, but I stand by it.

“I’m not interested in how many attempts at goal Celtic had, St Mirren did not concede and it’s not their fault if Celtic were rubbish on the day.”

Arrogant and complacent? Has Hugh not been paying attention this last 15 months.

Ange Postecoglou is probably THE most humble man in the SPFL and there is absolutely no way on this earth that he would allow his team to go onto a football pitch thinking that the game was already won.

Celtic had an off day. A rare thing to see but an off day all the same.

And as for St Mirren? Well done to them. They performed at their best and they probably won’t perform like that again.

It was enough to put Celtic to the sword and for that, they should be congratulated.

But arrogant and complacent?

Do me a favour Hugh!

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?

Arrogant and that’s Kevin’s middle name

The reason Celtic lost last week is because, in football, things like that happen. If they didn’t happen, we would all be riding ride in Rolls Royces.

Well, he’s right. Our ‘strike force’ was rubbish against Madrid, and a against Shaktar and then against St Mirren. If you don’t agree you are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land. You have to hold your hands up and admit that Absolute Top Quality strikers don’t miss as many as we do. We need a Sports Psychologist ‘cos that’s the problem.
All the usual missing ‘sitters’ in Europe.
