We’ve all seen this floating around social media haven’t we?

The Twitterati that have been continuing to share around this nonsense that this is the poorest Celtic side to win the league? Yeah, that one.

Absolutely ridiculous notion that seems to be a comfort blanket to our rivals that were convinced that Ange Postecoglou would be gone from Scottish football by Christmas.

But that narrative was completely blown out the water by BBC journalist Tom English.

Speaking on Sportsound, English rhymed off one simple fact that will not go down well with our friends across the city, “They’ve now matched or bettered their points total for three of their nine in a row.

“So you know that that tells a story. There’s a lot of nuances to that obviously, but it does show you that they have put up a big points total so far. They’ll add to that. I think they’re winning points total for the end of the league will be right up there.

“Top three, I would say maybe of their ten titles over the last eleven years.

“So to do it the way they did it, to have to rebuild the entire club, not just the team but the club.

“There was big positions that needed to be filled. They filled them and Postecoglou has just worked wonders here.”

Simple and straight to the point. And I would say this. Ange Postecoglou’s side is one of the best footballing sides to win the league considering out of the eleven outfield players that started the Glasgow Derby on Sunday, EIGHT of them are new signings.

Remarkable.
