There seems to be a strange hysteria descending on some sections of the Celtic support after the results of the past few weeks. And I get it. I really do.

But what some have seemed to forget is the sheer size and scale of the job Ange Postecoglou took on when he signed for the Hoops.

At the start of the season, most fans had written it off completely and had accepted that the team, in it’s current status then, had next to no chance of winning any silverware.

The introduction of ‘Angeball’ changed all that and whilst it is Postecoglou’s greatest gift to the Celtic fans, it will also be his biggest curse.

Those 6-0 wins against St Mirren and Dundee gave fans hope.

Hope that all was not lost this season and that maybe, just maybe, we could mount a serious challenge on Rangers and gain that automatic spot for the £40m seat in the Champions League.

A few injuries and inept performances later and the Hoops fans are becoming restless. One even claimed Celtic may be lucky to finish in the top six when he called Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

A claim shot down, very surprisingly by resident Celtic doom monger, Hugh Keevins and he urged calm as there is still plenty for Ange Postecoglou to play for this season, “It’s factually correct. If Celtic lose at Pittodrie and suddenly they drop into the bottom six.

“But that leaves NINETY points left to play for. People are talking about Celtic in the bottom six as if that was going to happen.

“Even if they lose to Aberdeen, and that would be a catastrophe for Ange Postecoglou, but even to lose and that would be four away games lost on the spin, we still have 90 points to play for.

“So we have to calm down a little bit in that regard.

“But there’s no doubt, as I said on the intro, you don’t win the league in your home form alone, but if your home form starts to get iffy on top of an inability to win anywhere away from home, you’re in trouble.”
