Just this week, the transfer speculation has been hectic surrounding the club. Mental.

As all the chat has surrounded Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers, there had been little to no speculation regarding other players. For now.

But journalist Pete O’Rourke took a stab at guessing how many players we could be looking at joining the club over the summer.

Vital Celtic reported that O’Rourke claimed, ““I think if they could get those two in it would be good business and they’ll probably be looking at, at least another four, maybe five signings for Celtic.

“I think there’s positions in the team that they’ll need to strengthen, especially in midfield with Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic both leaving the club on free transfers, making a couple of midfield spots up for grabs.”

And it certainly caused a stir on the article with the Hoops fans offering their opinion on the site as to where the gaffer needs to spend the cash:

Funtime Frankie said: “Personally, PADDY I think we need a Victor Wanyama type in midfield because the last two games against the Sevco thugs we were bullied, plus in my opinion McCarthy and Soro just won’t cut it,McCarthy is earning plenty for very little return complete waste of cash.”

Paul Dolan was delighted at the news: “This is good news its about time the board do in the business 4 players we need well done the board. Keep it up let Ange get the players he needs. Hail Hail.”

Stuart Saunders knows where the manager should be strengthening: “We need better defender’s. They will not cut it in the champion league. Scottish league? Yes.”

Terry reckons there are more than two midfielders needing replaced: “Not just Rogic and Bitton that is going McCarthy will be off too plus Soro so that’s 4 midfielders at least…..
Does that mean we will be short……”

Which was a good point but I replied to Terry: “Hi Terry, four midfielders, yes, but two of them you have mentioned have hardly kicked a ball for us.”

The summer will be very interesting, and if O’Rourke is correct a very busy one for the Celtic fans.

Has bizarre social media post unwittingly confirmed popular Celtic signing?

Couldn’t agree more with the comment on defenders, our defence in Europe was a total shambles,we need at least 2 quality defenders to have any hope in Europe.
