The weekends win has all but wrapped up the SPFL title. Six points clear with six games to go, it now seems like an insurmountable task for our rivals to claw back that gap, especially with our huge goal difference.

Ange Postecoglou’s men were immense in the derby and to a man, they all stood up to the challenge and delivered a performance befitting of champions.

But there is one man who is taking all the plaudits. Well, most of them anyway.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was a stalwart on Sunday.

The Celtic fans have been impressed with the big American all season but in the most important fixture of the season, CCV stood tall and defended like a warrior.

The partnership he has developed with Carl Starfelt is also one of the main reasons we have the best defensive record in the league and for that reason he must be brought to Celtic Park permanently.

And according to Stephen McGowan, this move should be sanctioned by any means necessary.

Taking to Twitter, the Chief Football Writer for the Daily Express said, “Irrespective of whether Celtic get that Champions League money they should pay whatever it takes for Cameron Carter-Vickers.”

For many fans, the signing of Carter-Vickers is seen as more of a priority than Jota (I’ll get to that later) and whilst I would like to see both strut their stuff at Celtic Park next season, I tend to agree.

Carter-Vickers calmness and composure has been crucial all season and to let that go at this stage would be criminal.
