Celtic are on the verge of automatic entry in the Champions League group stages.
On the verge, not quite there yet, but there is one foot in the door.
But who is to thank for that?
Our rivals for all their hard work in the Europa League?
That’s what the Scottish media will have you believe but that myth has been thrown out by a Celtic fan in one simple, but brutally effective, factual tweet:
The coefficients for the 22-23 UFA competitions are based on results over five years from 16-17 to 20-21.
Celtic have the higher coefficient over those 5 years (34.0 to 31.25).
Rangers results have helped, but hardly “singlehandedly”. pic.twitter.com/ggyhEm8rRr

But that is the narrative that has been spun.
Whilst you can’t argue that Celtic’s form in Europe hasn’t been the best in the Champions League, they haven’t exactly been cannon fodder or the ultimate disappointment that the media have made them out to be.
Celtic have earned that place in the Champions League. They have worked towards it, arguably now, harder than our rivals.
Anything else that is spun is just a disingenuous lie:
Can’t be true its all down to rangers* according to @celticway1888 @JamesCairneyHT 🙄 pic.twitter.com/bV0HGaAbeh
