I know I’ve written this before but I genuinely like Roger Mitchell on Twitter.
Admittedly, some of his tweets are a bit of a car crash and to be honest, that’s how this Twitter thread ended, but when an Australian YouTuber decided to have a pop at Celtic for not ‘blackening’ the club crest as a mark of respect for the Queen, Mitchell gave him a roasting on the social media platform.
What would I do if I had power at Celtic?
Many there, like me, will have zero issue in respecting the service and sacrifice of the woman for her entire life.
But it's not that easy. Celtic is an Irish club. Born of Irish immigrants to Glasgow.
Do you know Irish history? https://t.co/YfSDtKovBZ

Ergo, why the hell are you surprised that they don't want to toe the line? And salute what they see as the symbol of everything they deeply dislike. Its all there if you want to read the history books.
I personally don't feel this, but I DO understand why it happens.

"You will forgive us if we don't feel like showing any respect for that institution. We just can't honour the office, even if often we silently honour the individual"
" Don't ask us every time. This is our position".
That is clear and strong. Maybe wrong. But clear.
Instead?

Celtic have tied themselves in knots every time on this.
They haven’t worked out where they stand on the Green Brigade. I see no evidence of a policy beyond “let’s ignore it, it will blow over quick. Beside they create all the atmosphere”
If I’m wrong I apologise.

Jake Buckley (I’ve never heard of him either) is clearly an attention seeker looking to jump on the bandwagon as his original tweet completely ignored that only one Scottish club blackened their club crest.
I’ll let you guess which one.
The amount of people that have no idea of Celtic fan’s political leanings is incredible considering the roots of the club.
You would think people like these ‘influencers’ (can’t believe I typed that word) would do their homework before spouting nonsense and making themselves look foolish.
He’s spot on with his tweet re the GB. Seems to me the GB have the board in their back pocket.
“Influencers”…for me all they can influence is bile to rise up my throat. Narcissistic half-wits the lot of them.
Plenty of boys in the crowd took the decision not to clap and that is what I would have done. No time for the monarchy. However, no need to bring this heat on ourselves, especially after Big Ange asked for some decorum. Everyone is supposed to be united behind Ange and the team, and this is just an unnecessary distraction. It’s splitting the support and we don’t need it.
