Defender Marvin Compper will surely be the first player shown the Celtic Park door in January?

The 33-year-old former RB Leipzig man continues to be a mystery to supporters. At this point we wouldn’t be surprised if he was a mystery to Brendan Rodgers too.

Signed for a fee of around £1m in the last January transfer window, he’s gone on to make just one appearance for the club, which came against a lower league side in the Scottish Cup.

We’re sure he’s a nice guy, but this signing is turning into one as bad as the arrival of Derk Boerrigter.

Back in October, he described to The Scottish Sun an idyllic life in Scotland, happy that his family had settled in luxury surroundings. It seems he has benefited massively from his Scottish move.

He also spoke openly about his inability to get into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team plans, claiming that the Hoops boss had written him off due to his ability to train consistently.

However, he has been training regularly this season and seems to have put his injury problems behind him and the manager still hasn’t turned to him. So why is he still here?

Nobody likes failed signings, but for everyone’s benefit it’s best if he moves on as soon as possible, even if he is enjoying the family life in this country.
