Another home tie and another two points dropped. Today’s 0-0 draw with Livingston at Celtic Park is just yet another nail for Neil Lennon’s coffin and any hope’s the Irishman had of retaining his job after this season are gone. Today’s performance has been synonymous with how the season has panned out.

Speaking of the game today, ex player now turned pundit, Mark Wilson, says this is the worst run of results and performances since the Tony Mowbray era.  But the former Celtic defender goes on and claims that this run of form is WORSE than the run he endured when Mowbray was the Celtic boss.

Speaking on Clyde 1  Superscoreboard, Wilson said, “You can trace this all the way back to the summer when you look at the players Celtic did let go. Questionable at the time but you thought well, only time will tell if that’s the right decision, and it’s proven that was the wrong decision.

“The signings that come in to replace them are nowhere near good enough. The results, the failure on European Champions League qualification, followed by one of the worst Europa League performances I’ve seen from Celtic.

Trust me, I was a part of the Tony Mowbray era, and I was part of a  pretty bad spell and it’s worse than that, and coupled with the COVID situation, yet it has been all over the place.”

A stinging analysis of the current goings on at Celtic Park and you have to say, it is hard to disagree with anything Wilson has said.
