Laszlo says keeper would solve Celtic’s problem “for years”

|

Celtic have today been told that if they want to solve their goalkeeping crisis then they should look no further than Dundee Utd’s Benji Seigrist.

Seigrist has been in great form for The Tangerines this season and has helped Dundee Utd maintain a steady position in the Scottish Premeir League.

Csaba Laszlo brought the Swiss ‘keeper to Scotland back in 2018 and he reckons that the Hoops can pull off a masterstroke by making a move in the transfer window.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Laszlo said, “If Celtic need a replacement then who better than someone who knows the league, already on your doorstep? Of course, Benji is the best choice.

“Think of the age, he’s 28. Normally if you don’t get injured then for four or five years at least you have a very good number one.

“Benji is ready for this. Now I believe he can move to a higher level. To go to a big club like Celtic would be fantastic for him.”

Celtic have struggled to find a settled ‘keeper as Barkas has failed to find the firm that persuaded Celtic boss, Neil Lennon, to shell out £5m for him tonsign him from AEK Athens. Scott Bain has struggled to bridge the gap and although he shows great promise, it is probably too early for Conor Hazard to bear the responsibility of being the Hoops No1 so early in his career.

Lennon has recently ruled out looking to sign a keeper in this window after constant speculation linking the Parkhead club to ex player Fraser Forster.
