Celtic have been linked with a move for defender Dominic Iorfa this week, with outlets such as The Scotsman reporting we are considering signing him on a pre-contract.
Iorfa is on the fringes of the Wolverhampton Wanderers squad and his current deal expires at the end of the season meaning he is a potential bargain acquisition for interested clubs.
The 23-year-old has played 93 times for the club when they were still in the English Championship, but was ultimately frozen out of first-team action and sent out on loan to Ipswich Town last season.
Now only able to get a game for their reserve sides, he doesn’t appear to be the most inspiring choice at right-back this month.
Celtic fans are desperate to see serious competition for Mikael Lustig arrive, but it seems most had a player of a higher standard than Iorfa in mind.
Whether the club can do the business required in the final days of the window remains to be seen.
