Former Celtic striker, Charlie Nicholas, has – for the first time this season – shown his true colours after he fired a less-than-subtle dig at Rangers following the latest development in the SPFL resolution saga.

Nicholas was writing in his Daily Express column and in it made the following claims about the Ibrox club’s behaviour:

“Rangers need to stop whining and moaning like a baby. It is time to move on.

“Ibrox chairman Douglas Park is pushing for an independent inquiry into how the SPFL handled the lower-league vote, yet they don’t want to share any information they have on why they are questioning it.

“What exactly do they want? They don’t want Celtic winning the title, that much is clear.

“They want the season declared null and void to camouflage their own failures on the pitch.”

The SPFL will have an extraordinary general meeting on May 12 following Rangers, Hearts and Stranraer ย all agreeing to the motion and the Light Blues have said that they would release any supporting evidence prior to the meeting to member clubs.

Who scored most goals in the 2018/19 season?

Celtic fans took to Twitter following Nicholas’ column, for once, in agreement with his assessment of the Hoops noisy neighbour’s behaviour.

With nobody, apart from Rangers, knowing what the “evidence” is, observers of Scottish football will just have to sit and wait for the ultimate reveal in the latest development of the shambles that is the SPFL vote saga with the outcome of the 2019/20 season still nowhere close to a resolution.
