He’s a class act is the Celtic gaffer.

All season he has offered no excuses for poor performances. No over excitement for great victories.

Calm and level headed and you can see how that approach affects the team on the pitch.

Very refreshing and more tellingly, it is also frustrating for the headline writers.

And after yesterday’s win in the Glasgow Derby, the headline writers were getting nothing from the gaffer.

Even when asked about the referee performance yesterday on BBC Sportsound, Postecoglou still refused to be drawn on controversial ref John Beaton’s performance.

Journalist Kenny McIntyre asked, “As you’d expect, some big calls for the referee to make today when Liel BARDA went through and was brought down the red team that a yellow guard was at the correct decision in your opinion.”

And in true Postecoglou style, he refused to get involved in any referee mud slinging, “I don’t think the referee really influenced the game.

“I thought the game got a fair flow in it.

“Sometimes in these games they can be a little bit stop/start but I think because Rangers needed to win today.

“They they needed to come at us and I think that allowed the game to go but yeah, I don’t think the referee influenced the game.”

Ange has never been one to point the finger at match officials. Even when struggling at the start of the season with a goal ruled offside in the defeat to Hearts, he refused to be drawn on that side of the game where other managers would.

This just shows the true class of the man.
