Hardly a day goes by when there some sort of story designed to make the club look bad.
Take this one for example:
It was printed this week as a ‘debate’ when it has been proven countless times that Scotland’s coefficient is not encompassed by recent European exploits of both Glasgow clubs.
But, of course, the Record ran with the headline knowing full well that it would cause the usual divide and diatribe between both sets of fans.
One set, wrongly, believe that it is their recent European runs that have ‘handed’ Celtic a Champions League group stage spot. The other set know that, factually, it is the past FIVE years that make up the coefficient points that granted Scotland that guaranteed group stage place.
And who was responsible for that?
Celtic. And how do we know?
Apart from the fact it has been readily reported for weeks now, the very article that has raised this ‘debate’ ends it itself with this paragraph, “How does that all break down? It’s close between the Glasgow rivals, but it totals at Celtic adding 34.000 and Rangers chipping in with 31.250 to the club coefficient.
“The total coefficient towards country rank, which includes bonus points and qualifying rounds, also totalled at Celtic adding 59.00 and Rangers contributing 49.50.”
So rather than report the facts, the Record decided to headline the nonsense.
Typical from them to be honest.

Well to be fair Paddy I’m more stunned that they actually did print the truth for once. It’s not often you’ll see them write a story which puts our record ahead of theirs in absolutely anything. This is the rag that loves those “Sevco above Celtic in Champ Manager Rankings” type stories after all, and they mean absolutely nothing but it’s a way to try and get at Celtic. That’s the level of petty they normally are so this admission that the hun claims of gifting us the CL place are wrong is jaw-dropping to me.
Still widnae wipe ma rear-end wi’ it though….
