It does look like Celtic will be in for a bumper cash windfall this summer should the reports that Kieran Tierney is being tracked by clubs down south.

The out-of-favour Arsenal left-back has been a bit part player in Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing team due to the form of Ukrainian international defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.

This has led to speculation that Tierney could wind up leaving The Gunners amid rumours that mega-rich Newcastle could be considering making a move for the Scottish international as they look to bolster their defence for next season.

A report in 90 min via Birmingham Mail has claimed that Aston Villa have thrown their name into the hat in the pursuit of Tierney.

The Villains are said to be ‘keeping tabs’ on Tierney alongside other clubs such as Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham, and Leeds.

This can only be good news for Celtic as they are set to land a 15% slice of whatever fee Tierney garners and with the bidding likely to start at £30m, the minimum we could receive is £4.5m.

I’ve had many fans on here tell me that I am wrong about the details of the sell on clause but The Sun and Football Scotland have both reported that the fee Celtic will receive is based on any future fee rather than based on profit the London club make from the £25m investment they made just over three years ago.

The only thing they can’t agree on is whether it is 10% or 15%. Either way, Celtic will be due a fair chunk of change on the deal.
