Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong is set to leave Glasgow in a shock move after telling boss, Neil Lennon, he wants a move out of Celtic.

Frimpong had been attracting attention from Serie A outfit Roma at the beginning of last month and it seems he is on his way to Bundesliga cracks Bayer Leverkusen. At the time of Roma’s interest, Frimpong ruled out a move saying, “I am just focused on Celtic right now, I am at Celtic so I am focused on that.”

Frimpong, signed from Manchester City for a bargain £350,000, became a firm favourite with the Parkhead faithful dye to his enthusiasm in press conferences where he coined the phrase “Oh my days!” and also because of his energy on the football pitch.

Frimpong made a super start to his Celtic career in his first season with the Hoops but has struggled, this season, to find the kind of form that endeared him to the Celtic supporters.

Lennon confirmed the move today after a £10m bid was submitted for the right back ,“We received a really robust offer for him. We are disappointed to lose him but that’s football.”

This move will seriously weaken the Hoops as and if potential moves go ahead for El Hamed as expected, this leaves Anthony Ralston as Celtic’s only recognised right back.
