Celtic Word On The Tweet

“Big decisions wrong”, Lennon slams referee after dropping points and plenty Celtic fans join in – “cheated”

|

Celtic, albeit aided by inept officiating, were held to a 1-1 draw with Hibernian on Saturday and it’s safe to say fans weren’t happy with the result.

Neil Lennon, felt that his side should’ve had two penalties in the match saying via The Daily Record:

“The one on Moritz Bauer is a clear penalty and the one on Christie is a clear penalty.

“We didn’t get a stonewall penalty against Kilmarnock, anyway, that’s not the reason, well it might be, why we dropped points.”

“The referee got a lot right but in my eyes he got some big decisions wrong.”

It’s the first points of the season that the Parkhead side has dropped and not only was the result a surprise given their early season form but also the fact it came against Hibs. The Edinburgh side currently sit second bottom in the league and have shown few signs of improving in recent weeks.

Key refereeing decisions can have an affect on the overall outcome of games and it appears to have been the case here, if Clancy awards one of the penalties the game would’ve taken on a completely different complexion.

Celtic fans took to twitter to express their frustrations at dropping points against such a poor side.

Bringing some levity to an otherwise dour thread and as always, only in Scottish football twitter!
