Not too long ago I reported a joint shock second favourite in the bookies running for the Celtic managers job.  Speculation has been rife since Celtic were dumped out of Europe and the league cup on who will replace the current manager, Neil Lennon, should be be dismissed or walk away from Celtic Park.

At the time current Assistant Manager, John Kennedy entered the race as join favourite with Rafa Benitez at 2/1 to lane the job with Eddie Howe and Enzo Maresca not too far behind the favourites at 6/1.

The odds have since been updated and the stand alone favourite now to land the top job at Paradise is now John Kennedy with Rafa Benitez dropping into second place.

3 out of  5 bookmakers currently taking bets on the manager market now have Kennedy as the favourite for the next Celtic boss.  Only Paddy Power and Betfair have Rafa Benitez as the favourite at 8/15, although at the time of writing this Betfair did have Kennedy as their favourite (so technically it was 4 bookies).

Currently Skybet (2/1), William Hill (9/4) and Betvictor (5/2) currently all have the Hoops No 2 installed as their top dog.

I am willing to stick my neck out and say that the majority of Celtic fans will not be happy at this news.  This is obviously not slight on Kennedy as a coach, but more to do with the supporters wanting to see a complete regime change at Paradise to see the club move forward and that, unfortunately for Kennedy, would mean he would need to be axed too.
