|

The youth exodus is gathering pace at Celtic Park and as reported last week, young Hoops goalkeeper, Vincent Angelini, is the subject of intense speculation as Europe’s top club look to capture his signature.  Angelini’s contract expires at the end of the season and the youngster is free to talk to any clubs about a potential move.

It was thought that English Premier League giants, Manchester United, were the favourites to land Angelini, but AC Milan are seemingly desperate to find a successor to their own goalkeeping crisis as Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Çalhanoğlu are still to agree contract Hakan Çalhanoğlu and the Rossoneri have earmarked young Angelini as the perfect understudy to learn from their legendary ‘keeper, Donnarumma.

Italian publication  Calciomercato Milan, have gave Angelini the ultimate compliment by comparing the Celtic youngster to their number 1 ‘keeper and they have urged Milan “to hurry” and snap the youngster up.

Angelini is the grandson of Celtic legend, Davie Hay, and signed his first professional contract with the Hoops back in September 2019 and a six foot, three inches is a commanding figure in the penalty box.  He is a product of the Celtic Youth Academy and has been part of the under 18’s squad now for two years.

As well as Milan, he is also attracting the attention of other Serie A outfits Atalanta and Lazio so the youngster certainly has options available to him if these clubs make him an offer, and with the glowing reports and comparisons he is receiving from Calciomercato Milan, those offers seemingly won’t be long in coming.
