I wrote a piece yesterday regarding Adrian Durham’s Talksport Drive radio show where he hysterically went on a childish rant about how Celtic should be “demoted to Scottish League Two” after the COVID scandal. In many ways, his anger is shared by a vast swathe of the Celtic support but his over the top reaction to it shows him up to be an embarrassing shock jock at best.
Durham ranted on his live show, “Am I right in thinking Scotland has had enough of Celtic Football Club? In the whole scheme of things, what Celtic are doing now is far, far worse, far more insulting to the fans and to football and to the whole nation than anything Rangers did nine years ago.
“So wouldn’t it be just fitting, wouldn’t it be right, to demote Celtic to Scottish League Two after all this nonsense?”
In my piece I was scathing on the whole Talksport radio station and presenters but one has at least earned some respect back. Alan Brazil took to the airwaves this morning and responded to Durham’s rant and he pulled no punches, “That’s you Durham, a diddy, embarrassing, (Darren) Goughie hold his hand, cold flannel, just calm him down.”
And Brazil continues his hit back, “He’s lost, he’ll be sitting at home playing scrabble with himself and complaining he’s not got the right letters. He is a tube.”
It was a fitting retort to a “radio host” who’s knowledge of the Scottish game is as limited as his vocabulary. Well done Brazil, you have a long way to go to win my total respect, but you earned some of it back today!
