Neil Lennon has given an update on the Celtic squad ahead of the visit of AC Milan as he looks to get his side back on track following the weekend’s derby defeat.

The Scottish Sun reported on the gaffer’s pre-match press conference in which he had a mixture of good and bad news for Hoops fans hoping to see their side return to full health.

When asked about the possibility of Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard returning, he said:

“Ryan Christie will be back in the squad.

“Odsonne is undergoing some health and safety tests so that we can be as safe as possible for his return.

“We’re hoping to have him back for the weekend. Jullien and Forrest are still out.”

As with the weekend, it is alarming that Edouard has still not been given a clean bill of health and has either been showing signs of not being 100% or he has yet to provide a negative test, obviously Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed remain in isolation having both tested positive with the former in particular being hard hit by the virus.

Christopher Jullien had looked to be near to a return before the international break but continues to miss out whereas James Forrest will still have at least another month before he can even be considered for selection.

All eyes will be on Celtic’s social media about an hour before kick-off, intrigued to see if Lennon either makes wholesale changes to personnel or changes formation to combat the strength of the Italian giants, either way, something has to be done to stop the rot.
