Over the course of the last four or five days, the transfer talk surrounding Celtic has been extremely quiet.

Ever since Ange called out the ‘lies’ from the media regarding the sheer volume of speculation surrounding the club, the rumour mill went extremely quiet.

But today, there has been a few murmurings suggesting that Celtic are not finished after reports of the £1.5m signing of Matt O’Riley.

And normally these murmurings are just pundits trying to muster up some clicks for their articles but this one has come from a normally very reliable journalist.

Pete O’Rourke is a well respected transfer specialist, especially on social media, where he normally breaks transfer news and it is normally 100% spot on.

That is why this comment made me sit up and take notice.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, O’Rourke said, “I could see that being the case, that Celtic are looking to strengthen (in attack). Obviously, we know that they’ve had lots of injury problems this season.

“James Forrest has been in and out of the side, Mikey Johnson struggled as well. So, a lot of it’s been down to Jota, who is just recovering from injury himself.”

With just under two weeks left in the transfer market, it will be interesting to see if Ange looks to strengthen further especially after the immediate success of Hatate and Maeda.
