Remember when Ange Postecoglou said there would be no new signings unless something extraordinary happens?

Well, what he actually said was [Irish News], “Unless something extraordinary comes along or something happens within the existing squad that means we need to move but, as we speak right now, there is no other offers or people I have spoken to.”

Well it has just happened and now the Celtic fans will be watching and waiting to see if this is extraordinary enough for the Celtic gaffer.

Reported Celtic target Hannes Wolf was made officially available last night by Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Sporting Director Max Eberl confirmed that they are looking to offload the midfielder in this transfer window either permanently or on loan.

Speaking to the media [Football Scotland] the Borussia supremo confirmed that an £8m price tag has been put on the Austrian as he said, “It could be that something happens with him in the next few days.

“Whether that be a loan or permanent sale, we’ll have to see.”

Vital Celtic reported back in early December that Wolfe was on Postecoglou’s radar but with no confirmation that the youngster was officially available, that move seemed to have died down.

Until now.

Whether Ange is of a mind to recruit another midfielder after the successful debut of Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi waiting on the sidelines is another matter.

But this boy is quality. Could an exception be made by Ange now that he is available?
