Celtic social media has become a bit of a parody in recent months.  From the inane “Happy Birthday” posts to all and sundry to completely ignoring ex manager, Neil Lennon’s, post match conference when he addressed the whole Dubai debacle in his infamous “agenda” rant where he targeted everyone from the Scottish Government, media and my next doors cat for the criticism levied at the club for the trip during a global pandemic.

This morning was no different when the club’s twitter account tweeted a celebratory message to club legend Bobby Lennox as on this day, he made his debut for the Hoops which was the beginning of an amazing career for the Celtic legend.

Who would you prefer as next Celtic manager?

But the tweet had one glaring error. Out of all the medals Lennox had amassed, the tweet had an omission of the 1980’s Scottish Cup 1-0 win that the legendary striker made an appearance as a substitute.

It was truly an astounding error and no sooner had it been posted, it was deleted after angry Celtic fans pointed out their mistake.

Lennox made 599 appearances in the famous green and white hoops scoring an incredible 301 goals. He was also part of the legendary Lisbon Lions team that lifted the European Cup.  Lennox was affectionately known as “The Outsider” within the dressing room as he was the only person within the team to come from outside of Glasgow.

Lennox had a glittering career at Paradise as shown in the picture, but best to remember to add a Scottish Cup winners medal to that haul!
