Yesterday, Celtic Women showed a clinical side that has perhaps been missing from the men’s team by thumping Hibs 9-0 in their season opener.

Hattricks from both Jacynta and Clarissa Larisey along with an own goal and a double from Amy Gallacher gave the Celts a thunderous victory and a great way to kick off the new SWPL season.

It didn’t take long for the team to hit their stride with Jacynta scoring her first goal after only 30 seconds. You can read the full match report on the Celtic website here.

It’s a great start for Fran Alonso’s team, especially given the turnaround in playing staff over the summer with an overhaul of the squad taking place.

With such an entertaining match kicking off the new season, it is sure to inspire fans to attend the matches.

The club has committed to encouraging more supporters to attend with free entry for one child for every Celtic Women season ticket holder, also any young hoop members can gain access to the games for free with any paying adult.

Celtic FC Women continue the league campaign next Sunday with an away game at Partick Thistle before returning home the following Sunday for a home game against Spartan Women.
