Celtic’s Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton is being targeted by Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, as reported by The Telegraph.

The paper say that Rodgers wants another reunion with his former colleague, even though Congerton himself would prefer a move abroad.

Under contract at Celtic though, any team coming in for him will have to provide the Hoops with a cash boost and pay compensation, according to the report.

Rodgers has worked with Congerton at both Celtic and Chelsea and has gone on the record in recent months praising his efforts behind the scenes to help Celtic and other clubs find exciting, young players.

As we pointed out earlier this week, loads of Hoops fans would not be bothered by his departure at all, seeing him as part of a failed recruitment strategy over the last few years.

Receiving any sort of fee for him would be seen as a major positive, with most probably happy to see him depart Glasgow for free.
