Craig Gordon is getting close to full fitness, and could be back for our Scottish Cup semi-final clash.
Our no.1 has been sidelined with a knee injury he picked up against Hibs back in January, and the initial prognosis was 12 weeks out.
However, it seems the 35 year old could be back a couple of weeks earlier than scheduled with the derby on 15th April being pencilled in as a possible return date.
Considering the performances of Scott Bain in recent games, some fans on Twitter believe we should keep faith with the 26 year old on loan from Dundee.

Not sure he deserves to be dropped https://t.co/gkmUhTyffI

Scott Bain should continue in goal for Celtic until the end of the season with Craig Gordon coming back from injury

Hearing Craig Gordon not far away from a return. IMHO I`d still pick Scott Bain, he`s been a revelation since he came in .. any thoughts

They should be. A motivated Bain is a marvellous choice to play second fiddle and learn from Craig Gordon. In addition, he can perform in the way that Brendan Rodgers wants his side to play. https://t.co/lBhTMs0hcF

Fair point about being number one. I said a while back we should sign Bain as Craig Gordon`s ‘understudy`, to eventually take the number one jersey. Who knows – Rodgers may prefer Bain anyway. His distribution is good.

Personally I’d like us to wish DDV all the best in the Summer and let him go. Would rather have Bain as the backup choice to Craig Gordon.

Why do we need a boost Bain has done ok so far. Let him stay in goals. Gordon doesn`t need to come back.

Bain looks more assured than Gordon. Better with ball at feet too.

Ah i see lol. What do you make of Bain? I think De Vries and Gordon might be lucky to get back in the team. He seems great from 1 and a half games
? Lee Denny (@Lee_Denny2000) 18 March 2018
Gordon will struggle to get bck into the team if Bain keeps these performances up

Verdict:
It`s a hard one to call. I would like to see how Scott does in upcoming fixtures before making a firm judgement on who to pick for the Cup tie. The experience of Gordon could be crucial, but he will be coming off a long injury layoff, and that could tip things in the favour of our no.29.
