We all know how much Ange Postecoglou likes to be organised when it comes to his transfer business.  From the organised chaos of last summer to the relatively calm breeze of January, the Celtic manager has certainly made massive strides in not only organising his recruitment, but also in getting it right.

His eye for a player certainly cannot be questioned as almost all of the players he has identified has hit the ground running.

Well it seems he could be on the hunt again for another striker as Honduran Alberth Elis could be on the radar once more.

Vital Celtic wrote back in July that the Hoops were interested in making Elis a £8.5m summer signing as the Honduran international had found himself on the verge of a big money move after making the switch from MLS side Houston Dynamo to Boavista for £1m.

Elis himself said former Celt Emilio Izaguirre advised him to make the Parkhead switch back in June last year, ““When I first played for Honduras I asked Emilio to recommend me to Celtic. In fact, always ask him that!

“There are clubs who would be nice to play for because they are always challenging for titles and cups.

“I have spoken to Emilio about Celtic and he’s told me they are at another level.

“For me, since the day I left Olimpica, I’ve never hidden the fact that my dream is to go and play in Europe and compete in the Champions League.”

Elis instead chose a loan move to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux where, although he has been in sparkling form scoring nine goals in nineteen games, the former French champions remain rooted to the bottom of the league and facing relegation.

It is believed that Les Girondis have the option to buy Elis for £5m at the end of the loan deal and a report from HITC has tipped the Hoops to possibly nick in and steal the 53 cap international striker.

With Elis valued at £5.4m [Transfermarkt] and Boavista clearly keen to sell, it remains to be seen if a deal can be brokered to bring him to Paradise but I would Celtic will need to offload Albian Ajeti first before attempting to bring in another front man.

Which itself, is proving a problem.
